Hong Kong-based collectible toy brand Storm Collectibles, renowned for its extensive line of CAPCOM fighting game characters, is set to release Cody, one of the three main protagonists from the classic side-scrolling beat 'em up game "Final Fight," as part of their 1/12 scale action figure series. The figure is slated for a Q1 2027 release with a suggested retail price of $75 USD.
Considered one of the definitive titles in the side-scrolling beat 'em up genre, "Final Fight" was originally launched by CAPCOM in 1989 for arcade platforms. Players could choose from three distinct characters—Haggar, Cody, and Guy—each with unique abilities. The game's straightforward controls and exceptional combat feedback made it incredibly popular, leading to numerous ports on home consoles such as the Super Nintendo and SEGA CD.
In "Final Fight," Cody stars as the protagonist, deeply in love with Mayor Haggar's daughter, Jessica. When Jessica is kidnapped, Cody unleashes his full fighting prowess to confront the enemies. In-game, Cody is a highly effective character, boasting quick, powerful punches and a knack for using knives. Cody later made appearances in the "Street Fighter" series, including "Street Fighter Alpha 3" (known as "ZERO3" in Japan) and "Street Fighter IV" and "V."
This new Cody figure from Storm Collectibles faithfully recreates his iconic look from the game. Featuring short blonde hair, a white shirt, and blue jeans, the design is both clean and impactful. The figure comes with a rich array of accessories, including four interchangeable face sculpts, six pairs of alternate hands, his signature knife weapon, the dynamite seen during continue screens, and both normal and damaged versions of the in-game oil drum.
