Following the release of Inspector Chan Ka-Kui, TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectibles division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced the latest addition to its popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line: the S.H.Figuarts Dragon Ma (Project A)! This highly anticipated figure is priced at 11,000 JPY and is slated for release in January 2027.
"Project A" is a classic Hong Kong action film directed by and starring Jackie Chan, alongside Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao. Set in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican era, the story follows the rampant piracy plaguing the seas, with pirate leader Lo San-pao colluding with corrupt businessman Chow Wing-ling, severely impacting international trade. To eradicate the pirates, former Marine Police officer Dragon Ma (played by Jackie Chan) devises "Project A." He teams up with his old friend Choi Yi-fei (Sammo Hung) and superior Hong Tin-chi (Yuen Biao) to infiltrate the pirate stronghold in a coordinated effort.
The "S.H.Figuarts Dragon Ma (Project A)" stands approximately 14.5 cm tall and features his iconic look from the film! The figure faithfully recreates his white Marine Police uniform, complete with a plain white top, suspender pants, and striking argyle socks, as seen during the joint Marine and Land Police operations, city chase sequences, and hotel fight scenes. The facial expression parts utilize "Tamashii Digital Coloring Technology" to accurately reproduce Jackie Chan's facial contours, features, subtle shading, and three-dimensional depth, resulting in two incredibly realistic head sculpts! Accessories include the handcuffs and chair from the movie. The abdomen is crafted from soft material, allowing for more flexible and dynamic action poses, perfect for recreating Jackie Chan's signature painful-looking stunts, high-flying kicks, and other grand action sequences! Additionally, the equally iconic character Choi Yi-fei (played by Sammo Hung) from the same series was also revealed.
