Sideshow Collectibles, the renowned US-based collectibles manufacturer, has teamed up with Spanish artist Nekro XIII to launch a brand-new high-end "Darth Vader Fine Art Bust" for their "Star Wars" collection. This exquisite piece is currently available for pre-order, priced at $650, with an estimated shipping date in Q1 2027.
Darth Vader stands as the most iconic villain in the "Star Wars" saga. His signature black helmet, chest-mounted control panel, and ominous mechanical breathing have been seared into the minds of generations of fans since the original film's debut in 1977, making him one of the most recognizable antagonists in pop culture.
Breaking away from the traditional realistic approach of licensed film merchandise, this new collectible draws inspiration from Nekro XIII's distinctive flat collage style. It reinterprets Darth Vader's helmet and chest armor through a solemn Gothic visual language. The armor's surface is meticulously re-sculpted with intricate floral patterns and organic lines, deliberately mimicking the texture of wrought iron. The entire piece features a monochromatic scheme with a metallic sheen, enhancing the sculpture's depth and dimensionality under light.
At the bust's core, the Galactic Empire's insignia is framed by the silhouette of a cathedral dome, echoing the Sith's almost religious fervor for the Dark Side of the Force. The entire piece rests on a simple, unadorned base, ensuring the visual focus remains entirely on the statue itself. This makes it a striking display piece for both art collectors and "Star Wars" enthusiasts alike.
