Japanese toy company MegaHouse has announced the latest additions to its popular chibi-style figure series, "Look Up". Hailing from the hit anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba", the new set features "Look Up Hakuji & Koyuki", scheduled for release in January 2027.
Hakuji was the human identity of the Upper Rank Three demon, Akaza. As a young man, he resorted to theft to pay for his father's medicine, leading his father to take his own life to free his son from the burden. While wandering, Hakuji met his future master, Keizo, who took him in at his dojo. There, Keizo asked Hakuji to care for his frail daughter, Koyuki. The two gradually fell in love and were engaged to be married. However, on the eve of their wedding, both Koyuki and Keizo were poisoned and killed by a rival dojo. Consumed by grief and rage, Hakuji slaughtered the culprits and was later found by Muzan, who transformed him into a demon, erasing his memories and leaving only a relentless desire for strength.
The "Look Up Hakuji & Koyuki" figures recreate the pair in their traditional kimonos, presented in a stylized chibi format standing approximately 11cm tall. Pad printing technology is used for the facial details and the intricate patterns on Koyuki's kimono. True to the Look Up series, both figures feature articulated necks, allowing their heads to turn and look up. Their serene and happy expressions offer fans a glimpse of the peaceful ending they were tragically denied in the story.
