BANDAI SPIRITS' popular prize figure brand BANPRESTO has announced the release of its latest collectible, the "Akane Osaki" figure from the hit anime "Akane-banashi," hitting shelves on June 27, 2026!
"Akane-banashi," which garnered significant attention during the recently concluded April 2026 anime season for its exceptional animation quality and powerful voice acting performances, tells the story of Akane Osaki. As the daughter of a rakugo performer, Akane cannot accept her father's expulsion from his school during his shin'uchi promotion test. She dedicates six years to studying rakugo, determined to become a shin'uchi herself to prove her father's dream was valid, and to uncover the truth behind his expulsion from the rakugo master Aragawa Issho. The anime features veteran singer-songwriter Keisuke Kuwata performing both the opening and ending themes, and its lead voice actors underwent over six months of dedicated rakugo training prior to production, cementing its status as one of the season's breakout hits.
This "Akane Osaki" figure perfectly captures Akane's eloquent stage presence. Her playful expression, with one eyebrow subtly raised, flawlessly embodies the essence of the original character. The streaked hair and dynamic dangling earrings convey a sense of motion, and despite being in a kneeling pose, the figure's dynamic tension makes her appear incredibly lifelike, as if she's truly about to launch into a captivating rakugo performance!
