Danish toy brand LEGO has officially revealed the latest addition to its Technic series: the "42233 Ducati Desmo450 MX Factory Motorcycle." This new set is scheduled for official release on August 1, 2026, with a suggested retail price of $49.99 USD.
Ducati, the renowned Italian motorcycle brand, has long been celebrated for its high-performance road and track racing motorcycles. The Desmo450 MX marks Ducati's inaugural entry into the off-road motocross (MX) segment, officially launched in 2025. The "Desmo450 MX Factory" version, authorized by LEGO for this set, is the competition-enhanced model released in 2026. It features a full titanium Akrapovic exhaust and upgraded Showa suspension. Limited to just 400 units, it stands as Ducati's flagship model for its ambitious foray into off-road racing.
This LEGO Technic rendition comprises 457 pieces, making it the smallest and most affordable Ducati set in the Technic series to date (following the 42107 Panigale V4 R and 42202 Panigale V4 S). It also marks the first Ducati Technic set to feature an off-road bike. The model faithfully recreates the rugged silhouette of the Desmo450 MX Factory, boasting working front and rear suspension and a chain-driven engine connected to the rear wheel, allowing for realistic mechanical motion. Suitable for builders aged 10 and up, the estimated build time is approximately 1 to 2 hours.
