LEGO has officially unveiled its latest Gift with Purchase (GWP) for the Ideas series, the "40912 Sea Serpent." This set is scheduled to launch on July 7, 2026, through official LEGO channels, available free with qualifying purchases (the specific threshold will be announced by LEGO).
The "40912 Sea Serpent" is a modern remake of the classic 1992 Castle series set, "6057 Sea Serpent." The original set was part of the "Black Knights" Castle theme, renowned for its black hull and the distinctive Black Knight shield emblem, making it a shared memory for many LEGO fans from the 80s and 90s. This new remake originated from the winning entry of the LEGO Ideas "A Twist of Nostalgia" design contest, created by fan designer HallowedBrick02, which stood out among numerous retro-themed submissions to become an official product.
• 6057 Sea Serpent
The new Sea Serpent faithfully recreates the original's black hull silhouette and the iconic sea serpent figurehead, while also incorporating modern detail upgrades. Most notably, the minifigure accessories feature a brand-new design combination: the Black Knight's shield utilizes a "The Legend of Zelda" series shield element printed with the Black Knight emblem, a detail sure to excite veteran collectors. The minifigure's torso reuses the Gryphon Knight chest armor from the "21358 Minifigure Gumball Machine" with a recolor, presenting a perfect fusion of the original spirit and modern brick craftsmanship.
