"What's 1000 minus 7?"
Chinese toy manufacturer Rocket Toys (ROC), under license from Pierrot China, has unveiled two new 1/6 scale action figures from the popular anime "Tokyo Ghoul": Ken Kaneki (Awakening Ver.) and Ken Kaneki (Battle Suit Ver.). This article will focus on the Awakening Ver. first, which has a suggested retail price of 1,450 RMB and is slated for release in Q2 2027!
"Tokyo Ghoul" (トーキョーグール) is a manga series by Sui Ishida, serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" from 2011 to 2014. Studio Pierrot adapted it into a TV anime in 2014. The story follows ordinary college student Ken Kaneki, who, after an accident during a date with a beautiful woman, wakes up to find himself transformed into a flesh-eating "Ghoul," forced to survive in a cruel world.
▼Of course, you'll need to listen to "Unravel" while checking out this sculpt!
The Ken Kaneki (Awakening Ver.) stands approximately 27.5 cm tall. It captures his iconic look from the anime's first season, episode 12, "Ghoul," where he awakens and rises to confront Yamori. The meticulously sculpted head accurately reproduces his facial details and the dramatic transformation of his hair to white overnight. Two eye sculpts are included: normal and Ghoul eyes, both featuring an articulated mechanism with an adjustment rod to precisely direct Kaneki's gaze! His torn black shirt and white pants are faithfully recreated with real fabric tailoring. The arms and legs utilize seamless jointed bodies, realistically showcasing his muscular physique, and even his blackened fingernails are intricately detailed!
Accessories include an alternate smiling face sculpt, twelve interchangeable hands, a pair of alternate arm parts, a pair of alternate leg parts, a pair of handcuffs, a pair of shackles, a Ghoul mask, Kagune effect parts, Yamori's torture chair, and a chain set. Combined with the dedicated display base and the figure's flexible articulation, collectors can vividly recreate his powerful awakened stance battling Yamori!
