High-end US collectibles brand Elite Creature Collectibles (ECC) has officially unveiled a new premium collectible from "Jurassic Park III": the Spinosaurus Head Prop Reproduction 1/2 Scale Bust. Priced at $5,500, pre-orders close on July 27, 2026, with an estimated Q1 2027 shipping date. This piece is strictly limited to 100 units worldwide and will be custom-produced.
Released in 2001, "Jurassic Park III" was the first sci-fi adventure film in the entire Jurassic franchise to feature the Spinosaurus as the primary threat, replacing the T-Rex. In one of the most memorable showdowns for fans, the Spinosaurus famously defeated the Tyrannosaurus Rex, solidifying its status as the island's apex predator. It also remains the only film in the series where the Spinosaurus, rather than the T-Rex, appears on the movie's official logo.
The Spinosaurus's conceptual design originated from Mark "Crash" McCreery, drawing inspiration from the color aesthetics of venomous creatures like coral snakes. Joey Orosco further refined the Spinosaurus's iconic red coloration seen in the film and spearheaded the creation of the full-scale animatronic model. This animatronic Spinosaurus, built by Stan Winston Studio, remains to this day the studio's largest, heaviest, and fastest-moving animatronic dinosaur ever. ECC's new 1/2 scale replica meticulously recreates every detail of that legendary prop in a static display.
This 1/2 scale replica was sculpted by renowned ILM artist Bitan, faithfully capturing the Spinosaurus's on-screen appearance. The paint application was personally overseen by Joey Orosco, ensuring every detail perfectly matches the film's artistic direction. Crafted from high-quality resin and meticulously hand-painted, the piece reproduces even the subtle skin textures, scales, and scars that were barely perceptible on the big screen.
Notably, early bird orders placed before July 15 will receive an exclusive bonus: a "Spinosaurus Embryo Vial Replica." This accessory, a nod to a classic prop from the film, makes for a highly significant addition for "Jurassic Park" fans.
