Japanese figure maker Kotobukiya has revealed brand new gray prototypes for their 1/7 scale PVC figures of Kaguya and Tsukimi Yachiyo from the popular anime "Cosmic Princess Kaguya" on their official X (formerly Twitter) account!

The anime film "Cosmic Princess Kaguya," exclusively streamed on Netflix, made quite a splash earlier this year with its numerous Vocaloid classic song covers and compelling storyline. It tells the story of Izayoi Iroha, a young girl living alone, juggling a busy life of part-time jobs and studies. Her sole emotional support comes from the streams of virtual idol Tsukimi Yachiyo. On the verge of a breakdown, she finds a mysterious baby near a utility pole outside her home. The infant rapidly grows into a young girl who claims to be from the moon. Iroha names her Kaguya, and the two deepen their bond between reality and the virtual world of "Tsukuyomi." However, a mysterious force soon attempts to take Kaguya back to the moon...!

The newly revealed gray prototype for Tsukimi Yachiyo features her "Bamboo Cutter Battle" outfit. She's captured mid-leap, holding her weapon-umbrella, with a dynamic backward glance. The flowing fabric and hair give the figure a strong sense of motion. Details like patterns on her outfit are already reproduced with tampo printing, and her pink eyeshadow and hair highlights are also faithfully recreated.

Kaguya is depicted in her usual virtual avatar, showcasing a hybrid design that blends traditional and modern aesthetics. The figure faithfully recreates the hollowed-out crescent moon pattern on her abdomen. Her base features pixelated rabbits and hearts, reflecting the unique background of Tsukuyomi. Compared to Yachiyo, only Kaguya's eyes are currently colored, and we eagerly await the reveal of her fully painted prototype!

Additionally, a 1/7 scale PVC figure project for another protagonist, Izayoi Iroha, was also announced today!
