A few months ago, World of Reel reported that director Wes Anderson’s next feature would again be distributed by Focus Features, the studio behind "Asteroid City" and the upcoming "The Phoenician Scheme." However, details regarding the film's genre, subject matter, or cast remained under wraps. Now, Anderson and his longtime collaborator, Bill Murray, have finally offered some intriguing hints.

Murray, who recently joined Anderson at an outdoor film festival in Paris, France, playfully teased the project during the event. "The movie I want to make now is a cowboy movie," Murray stated, "because he [Anderson] is from Texas, and I feel he owes the world a cowboy movie, so I started walking like a cowboy." Anderson later confirmed the idea, adding, "We will do a Western, you know. I think. For many years, we've talked about doing a Western. Owen and Luke Wilson, I think, will be a part of that… They're from Texas, too, and I think it's our destiny." If this Western project moves forward, it could indeed be the film for which Focus Features acquired distribution rights.

Anderson has a long history with Owen Wilson and Luke Wilson, having known the brothers since their student days. The trio first collaborated on Anderson's feature directorial debut, "Bottle Rocket," and later reunited for films like "The Royal Tenenbaums." While Luke Wilson has not appeared in an Anderson film for several years, this potential Western would mark a highly anticipated reunion for the trio.
