BANDAI HOBBY, the model kit division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS, has announced an upcoming release for its robot-themed "HG" (High Grade) model kit series: the iconic Lancelot from the anime "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion." More details are expected to be revealed soon.

The Z-01 Lancelot is a seventh-generation experimental Knightmare Frame developed by Britannian Empire scientist Lloyd Asplund. Its Core Luminous power source, internal structure, and external armor utilize a significantly larger amount of Sakuradite compared to previous models, allowing it to generate immense power instantly and achieve astonishing combat capabilities. However, this comes at the cost of limited operational time, making the Lancelot incredibly difficult to pilot without exceptional skill. This led to Suzaku Kururugi, with his superior physical abilities and piloting prowess, being chosen as its pilot. The Lancelot is equipped with powerful armaments such as the Maser Vibration Sword (MVS), VARIS (Variable Ammunition Repulsion Impact Spitfire), and an Energy Shield. It can also utilize its leg landspinners for high-speed breakthroughs and can be fitted with a Float System on its back for aerial combat when needed.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" series, BANDAI HOBBY will produce this highly popular signature Knightmare Frame, the Lancelot, with all-new sculpted parts. From the prototype images released so far, it's clear the design will build upon the style and technology seen in the HG Lancelot Albion. The kit promises precise color separation and part articulation to faithfully reproduce the entire body's colors, along with flexible articulation to achieve dynamic high-speed gliding poses. This represents a significant technological leap compared to the 1/35 Mechanic Collection Lancelot, a similarly scaled product released back in 2007.
