Japanese director Takashi Yamazaki, who recently reached new career heights with his critically acclaimed "Godzilla Minus One," is quickly moving forward with his second Hollywood sci-fi feature. Two years ago, Yamazaki announced his Hollywood debut with the English-language robot-battling film "Grandgear," which is slated for release on February 18, 2028. Now, he's set to collaborate with "Gladiator" director Ridley Scott on his next major Hollywood production.

The new film, reportedly titled "Nue," is an original sci-fi concept. Plot details are being kept under wraps, though it's known to stem from an idea Yamazaki has been developing for years. Scott's production company, Scott Free Productions, will produce the film, with Scott himself serving as a producer. 20th Century Studios, a frequent collaborator with Scott Free, will handle distribution. No cast has been announced yet, and a release date remains unconfirmed, indicating the project is still in its very early stages of development.
