Hong Kong toy manufacturer threezero, renowned for its "FigZero" articulated figure series focusing on characters from American and Japanese anime, manga, and tokusatsu, has unveiled a new product. This release is a collaboration with pop superstar Jay Chou and his team's brand, PHANTACI, presenting the "Ultraman PHANTACI Special Edition" 12-inch action figure from the movie "Shin Ultraman"!
"Shin Ultraman," the third film in Hideaki Anno's "Shin Japan Heroes Universe" project, was co-produced by Tsuburaya Productions, Toho, and Khara. This movie reinterprets the 1966 tokusatsu TV series "Ultraman" by blending its narrative with elements from its predecessor, "Ultra Q," and setting it in a contemporary timeline. It presents fans with a distinct vision of Ultraman, brought to life with an entirely new artistic direction.
Standing approximately 31 cm tall, this "Shin Ultraman PHANTACI Special Edition" appears to reuse the sculpt from the previously released FigZero Shin Ultraman. It boasts a die-cast metal inner frame, faithfully capturing Shin Ultraman's lean physique, the distinct eyes without visible peepers, and the chest design devoid of a Color Timer. Embracing PHANTACI's unique brand aesthetic, the iconic red is swapped for a symbolic pink, representing boundless creativity, further enhanced by a metallic finish that radiates a mysterious and elegant vibe. The figure comes with three pairs of interchangeable hands, and its eyes feature an LED light-up function. With 35 points of articulation across the body, collectors can achieve a wide range of dynamic poses, highlighting the distinctive allure of this PHANTACI edition!
