Reports emerged last year that the new "Superman" film would spawn a spin-off series, "DC Crime," focusing on Clark Kent's Daily Planet colleague, Jimmy Olsen. The first season's primary antagonist was rumored to be Gorilla Grodd, a renowned adversary of The Flash in the comics. Recent news now indicates that DC Studios has seemingly found its actor for Grodd: Jimmy Tatro, the "Scream 7" star known for his comedic work (pictured below).

Renowned entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider exclusively broke the casting news on his blog, The InSneider, a few days ago, stating that Tatro was in talks to play Grodd. Sneider also mentioned that "DC Crime" is slated to begin filming in Atlanta, USA, by the end of this month.
The series will be showrun by Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the co-creators of the Netflix series "American Vandal." Tatro was also a cast member in "American Vandal." The narrative style of "DC Crime" will reportedly mirror "American Vandal," presented as a mockumentary crime comedy. It will depict Jimmy and other Daily Planet reporters investigating crimes committed by various super-powered villains.
