July is a prime summer blockbuster season, with major commercial films vying for attention. Among them, Christopher Nolan's star-studded "The Odyssey" stands out as one of the most anticipated cinematic events. However, "The Odyssey" isn't the only film of that name hitting screens this month. The Asylum, known for its low-budget B-movies, has released its own adaptation, a mockbuster that actually premiered ahead of Nolan's version. The Asylum's take landed on streaming platforms last Friday, while Nolan's highly anticipated film isn't scheduled for release until July 17.

Keeping pace with current trends and producing "mockbuster" versions of popular films has long been The Asylum's signature strategy. In addition to their "Odyssey" spoof, they've recently parodied other major titles such as "Masters of the Universe," "Disclosure Day," "Mortal Kombat II," and "Toy Story 5." Their corresponding releases include "Master of the Universe," "Alien Disclosure Day," "Immortal Combat," and "New Toy Story." You can find trailers for these films via the links above.
