Japanese-American joint venture TAKARA TOMY and Hasbro have announced the latest addition to their "Transformers New Legends" series: the "NL-05 Galvatron" action figure. Pre-orders are now open, with an anticipated release in February 2027, priced at $129.99.
Galvatron, the Emperor of Destruction for the Destron Army in the Japanese original anime "Beast Wars II: Super Lifeform Transformers," famously clashed with the Maximal faction on Planet Gaia. This new figure captures Galvatron's enhanced appearance following his revival, featuring multiple transformation modes. In "Drill Tank Mode," he's equipped with a massive drill that doubles as a laser cannon. His "Wyvern Mode" boasts a distinctive bird-beak-like head, showcasing Galvatron's intimidating power. Furthermore, he absorbed the Angolmois Energy hidden within Planet Gaia to boost his strength, solidifying his status as one of the series' most iconic villains.
This release reinterprets Galvatron's design with the latest engineering, outfitting his robot mode with a variety of weapons. The "Galva-Axe" mounted on his arm is detachable for handheld use, while the "Scissor-Hand" on his back can be removed and wielded as a large scissor-type weapon. The massive drill in Drill Tank Mode rotates freely. In Wyvern Mode, his neck features multiple articulated joints, and his large wings are also poseable, allowing for dynamic displays. The figure also includes two unicorn-like horns (one for each side) to recreate his unique design characteristics.
