Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has announced a new Godzilla-themed collectible set to launch on their official website alongside the annual San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Introducing the "Mothra by Urban Aztec Cherry Blossom Glow-in-the-Dark Variant" Sofubi figure, priced at $210 and limited to just 500 pieces. Pre-orders will open on the MONDO SHOP website on July 22, 2026, at 10 AM CT.
Jesse Hernandez, a tattoo artist and graphic designer hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, is known for his distinctive "Urban Aztec" style, which masterfully blends graffiti, Aztec culture, and Native American art. Collaborating with various brands since the early 2010s, his powerful fusion of old and new cultural elements boasts incredibly high recognition.
This "Mothra by Urban Aztec Cherry Blossom Glow-in-the-Dark Variant" Sofubi figure reuses the previous version's sculpt but features an entirely new color scheme. The figure stands approximately 22.8 cm (9 inches) tall with an impressive wingspan of about 45.7 cm (18 inches). Mothra's wings are reimagined with intricate three-dimensional tribal patterns, while details on the chest, abdomen, and feet also incorporate stylized designs, all reinterpreting Mothra's classic image through the unique Urban Aztec lens. The color scheme adopts a delicate pink and gold cherry blossom spray paint application, complemented by translucent light blue eyes and vibrant blue tribal accents on the chest and abdomen, giving the entire figure a captivating springtime feel. Furthermore, the main body is cast in glow-in-the-dark (G.I.D.) sofubi material, emitting a mesmerizing luminescence in the dark and offering a completely different visual experience compared to displaying it under normal lighting!
