Renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has unveiled a new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"-themed product: the "Slash Mutagen Glow Variant" sofubi figure. Priced at $130 USD and limited to just 350 pieces, pre-orders are set to open on the MONDO Shop official website on July 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM CT. The figure will also be available at the MONDO booth (Booth #5137, Hall G) during the annual San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) at the San Diego Convention Center from July 23-26.
Slash first appeared in the 1987 animated series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," specifically in Season 4, Episode 20, titled "Slash - The Evil Turtle From Dimension X." Originally, he was Bebop's secretly kept pet turtle. Bebop and Rocksteady, wanting someone to clean the Technodrome, secretly mutated him into a turtle without Shredder and Krang's knowledge. However, he later refused to obey Bebop and was transported to Earth. In his first encounter with the Ninja Turtles, he demonstrated overwhelming power, easily taking on all four of them.
This Mutagen Glow Variant utilizes the same sculpt as the previous version, which was inspired by classic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" animated and comic book designs, as well as traditional Japanese sofubi figures. The stylized sculpting captures Slash's muscular physique and the intricate textures of his shell, while his sharp claws and teeth are also meticulously recreated. The most significant feature this time is the new paint scheme, which draws inspiration from the glowing appearance of the "Mutagen Ooze" – the core essence of the Ninja Turtles' universe. The figure itself is molded from glow-in-the-dark sofubi material, with the skin featuring a pearlescent blue gradient effect. Meanwhile, his straps, armor, and weapon accessories – including the Mutagen Mace and Vicious Nunchaku, which can be stored on his shell – are painted in a pearlescent pinkish-purple hue. Standing approximately 21.6 cm (8.5 inches) tall, this figure boasts a strong presence both in light and in darkness, offering a completely different visual experience compared to the original release!
