Fans who've seen the first episode of "Getter Robo Armageddon" will never forget that insane, fiery battleground where Ryoma Nagare, piloting Getter-1, single-handedly took on the Saotome Laboratory and the Getter Dragon army! This time, we're showcasing a special diorama from Hong Kong-based Kumaki Scenes Production. Designed to complement the POSE+ Getter-1, this piece brings that iconic animated battle to life with a highly dynamic "forced perspective" diorama!
To capture the grandeur of the battlefield and the oppressive tension of the confrontation within a limited space (40x40cm), Kumaki incorporated ingenious visual mechanisms into the diorama's design:
The deeply curved, cracked stone base: Utilizing a design with a central depression and towering rock walls on either side, the diorama instantly creates a sense of distance between Getter-1 and the enemy forces, perfectly mimicking the desolate, heavy atmosphere of a doomsday battlefield from the anime.
Visual magic of distant perspective: Since the imposing POSE+ Getter-1 is the star, Kumaki meticulously crafted the background elements – the "Getter Dragon army" and "Saotome Laboratory" – in a micro-scale. This clever technique creates an extreme sense of depth and distance, with the distant laboratory towers visually extending the scene with hundreds of meters of spatial tension!
With Getter-1 wielding dual guns and its cape dramatically billowing, standing atop the scattered rocks, facing an endless stream of Getter Dragons emerging from the Saotome Laboratory, that insane aura of "one eye fixed on hell, one hand tearing through destruction" is simply off the charts!
From the rock sculpting and painting, dry-brushing textures, and micro-architecture details, to the overall dramatic tension of the composition, this diorama elevates the ferocious aesthetic of the POSE+ Getter-1 to its peak! Getter fans, can you already hear the iconic, fiery BGM "Ima ga Sono Toki da" playing in your head?
