SIDE BASSHAR
Measuring approximately 210mm in length, the set includes alternate grip parts, two pairs of motorcycle grip hands for Kamen Rider Kaixa, the Kaixa Gear Box, motorcycle grip hands for Masato Kusaka, a motorcycle helmet, a set of hands for recreating car wash scenes, a bucket, a detergent bottle, a motorcycle helmet for Takumi Inui, connection parts, a display stand, and more.
The bike's gold and mechanical silver parts are meticulously painted with distinct applications, faithfully recreating its on-screen appearance. Clear parts are utilized for the fairing and headlights, enhancing the realistic texture. The "SMART BRAIN MOTORS" logo and other markings are precisely applied using tampo printing throughout the vehicle.
The engine section, including the Photon Generator, features transformation mechanisms in various parts, allowing for detailed sculpting while maintaining the motorcycle's overall appearance. The intricate hose connecting the main bike to the sidecar is also faithfully reproduced from its on-screen depiction. Auxiliary parts are included to reinforce the sidecar's connection, ensuring stability.
Furthermore, the product's standout feature is its ability to transform from "Motorcycle Mode" into a massive "Battle Mode." By swapping out parts like the arms with dedicated "Battle Mode" accessories, it achieves both a perfect silhouette and a high degree of articulation. Some components utilize weighty die-cast metal, ensuring robust stability. The claw on the right arm in "Battle Mode" is articulated vertically, and the missile EXUP BUSTER on the left arm has an adjustable launch angle, allowing for dynamic action poses true to the series.
What's more, it includes two types of interchangeable grip hands for both Masked Rider Kaixa and Masked Rider Next Kaixa, allowing them to ride in both "Motorcycle Mode" and "Battle Mode." This enables the recreation of many memorable scenes from the show.
As a vehicle, I've always been a big fan of the Side Basshar. Firstly, its design is excellent, and secondly, it's transformable! It was an instant sell-out when pre-orders first opened... However, its price has now dropped below its initial retail, precisely because of its biggest flaw...
Overall, the sculpt is great, and the paint and tampo printing are well-executed! The bike looks fantastic, and it comes with a rich array of accessories and play features! But the biggest issue lies with the joints' ability to support the transformed body. Despite featuring ratchet joints, the load-bearing capacity is severely lacking, making it nearly impossible for the Battle Mode to stand without a display stand... This completely wastes such an excellent design!
Regardless, if you're not planning on actively posing it, it still makes for a fantastic display piece in your collection!
