A viral concept trailer for a speculative film titled "Digger" has recently surfaced, imagining a collaboration between Oscar-winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu ("Birdman," "The Revenant") and superstar Tom Cruise. The fan-made project, which has garnered significant attention, also unveiled a concept poster (below) alongside its "third official trailer."
The concept trailer's accompanying synopsis describes one of the world's most powerful men embarking on a frantic journey to prove himself humanity's savior, lest the disaster he instigated destroy everything. The speculative script is credited to Iñárritu, Mexican writer Sabina Berman, and the "Birdman" screenwriting team — Nicolás Giacobone and Alexander Dinelaris. The project also envisions Cruise's return to comedy, a genre he hasn't tackled in a decade since "American Made."
