STUDIO24, the independent sculpting and painting studio founded by sculptor Hiroshi Inasaka, is launching the ninth entry in its "The King of Collectors '24" series, focusing on popular fighting games. The latest release is a pre-painted figure of "Ryu (Standard Color)" from "Street Fighter II," priced at 16,500 JPY, with an estimated release in December 2026!
Ryu, the iconic protagonist of the "Street Fighter" series, is a martial artist who constantly travels the world, seeking out stronger opponents and honing his skills in the "Ansatsuken" (Assassination Fist) fighting style. However, across several titles, Ryu has grappled with the "Satsui no Hado" (Surge of Murderous Intent) within him. Should he fail to control it, he risks losing his sanity completely, transforming into a ruthless killing machine.
This Ryu pre-painted figure stands approximately 18 cm tall, capturing his iconic Player 1 white gi from "Street Fighter II." The figure masterfully translates Ryu's pixelated in-game appearance into a high-definition, three-dimensional sculpt. Hiroshi Inasaka himself sculpted the prototype, crafting Ryu in a powerful, ready-for-battle stance. The intricate sculpting highlights the incredible definition of his arm muscles and the realistic folds of his gi, while subtle details like the veins on his hands and feet are meticulously reproduced. The paint application further enhances the figure with deepened shading and increased contrast, giving it a strong sense of presence. Additionally, the model comes with an A3-sized poster background, allowing collectors to recreate his in-game battle scenes. Those who pre-order through STUDIO24's official direct channels will also receive an exclusive "Street Fighter II" logo acrylic plate, offering an even richer display experience!
