American toy manufacturer McFarlane Toys and Blitzway have teamed up for a dream collaboration! They are jointly launching a highly anticipated product featuring global baseball superstar, the "Shohei Ohtani (Deluxe Ver.)" 1/6 scale action figure, as part of the brand-new, high-end "McFarlane's SportsPicks" series. It will retail for US$399.99 and is slated for a February 2027 release.
Hailing from Iwate Prefecture, Japan, professional baseball player Shohei Ohtani currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball. He is a rare "two-way player" in modern baseball, excelling both as a pitcher and a hitter. As a pitcher, Ohtani can unleash an astonishing 165 km/h (102.5 mph) fastball and a dazzling array of breaking balls that have captivated the baseball world. As a batter, he showcases extraordinary power-hitting capabilities, breaking an unprecedented MLB record in the 2024 season by achieving 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases (the "50-50 club") in a single season, solidifying his status as one of baseball's most iconic superstars today.
The ultimate two-way player is here! In addition to the Standard Version, McFarlane Toys and Blitzway have gone all out with the McFarlane's SportsPicks "Shohei Ohtani (Deluxe Version)" 1/6 scale action figure! Standing approximately 35 cm (13.78 inches) tall (including the base), this figure not only meticulously recreates Ohtani's fierce on-field presence but the Deluxe Version also fully caters to baseball fans' desire for the "two-way player" experience.
Beyond the batting equipment included with the Standard Version, the Deluxe Version adds numerous exclusive accessories, allowing you to seamlessly switch between "Pitcher Ohtani" and "Batter Shohei"! These include a roaring interchangeable head sculpt, perfect for recreating those intense moments after a base hit or a strikeout. It also comes with multiple hairstyles, various interchangeable hand gestures, a dedicated bat-holding hand, and a gloved hand. In addition to the classic white Dodgers home uniform and protective gear, it generously includes a complete gray away uniform, truly delivering exceptional value!
