Danish toy brand LEGO has officially announced the release of the "40858 SpongeBob SquarePants Figure" as part of its BrickHeadz series. This highly anticipated set is scheduled for release on September 1, 2026, with a suggested retail price of $12.99 USD and consists of 72 pieces.
"SpongeBob SquarePants," the iconic American cartoon from Paramount's Nickelodeon, has been captivating audiences since its debut in 1999. With his signature square body, large eyes, and perpetually cheerful smile, SpongeBob has become one of the most recognizable cartoon characters globally. The LEGO SpongeBob series concluded in 2012, making this new BrickHeadz release a triumphant return after a 14-year hiatus. Comprising 72 bricks, the figure perfectly captures SpongeBob's most endearing features in LEGO's distinctive BrickHeadz style.
Also launching on September 1, 2026, is the companion set, "LEGO Icons 11386 SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom" (priced at $219.99 USD with 1,794 pieces). This larger set brings together multiple classic buildings from Bikini Bottom and includes six character minifigures.
