In March, reports surfaced that "Women Talking" director Sarah Polley was set to write and direct a new film adaptation of Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar," with pop sensation Billie Eilish tapped to star. In recent days, the project has added two more cast members: Carey Mulligan and Connor Storrie, who recently gained global recognition for starring in the BL series "Heated Rivalry" (pictured below).

While Storrie's role has not yet been revealed, Mulligan will portray Mrs. Greenwood, mother to protagonist Esther Greenwood, played by Eilish. This marks Eilish's debut as a lead film actress. The new "The Bell Jar" adaptation is based on the late author Sylvia Plath's semi-autobiographical novel of the same name, with Focus Features handling North American distribution. While a release date has not yet been set, the film is anticipated to arrive next year.
