Early in the formation of DC Studios, co-CEO James Gunn assured fans that the "Blue Beetle" solo film, originally part of the DC Extended Universe, would still be integrated into the new DC Universe and continue its story.
Now, Gunn has seemingly made good on that promise, reportedly arranging for Blue Beetle's second appearance in the new "Superman" sequel, "Man of Tomorrow."

The news was first reported by foreign outlet Nexus Point News, with some netizens also claiming to have spotted Xolo Maridueña, who plays Blue Beetle's Jaime Reyes, on the set of "Man of Tomorrow." Ultimately, the more authoritative media outlet Variety followed up on the report, confirming the news.
Beyond "Man of Tomorrow," DC Studios has also been developing an animated series for "Blue Beetle," with Maridueña confirmed to return for voice work. Although "Blue Beetle" struggled at the box office upon its release, costing over $100 million to produce and grossing only $130 million worldwide, this clearly hasn't diminished Gunn's commitment to the character, as he continues to provide opportunities for its development.
