China's high-quality collectible figure brand HIYA TOYS has announced the latest addition to its "EXQUISITE BASIC Series": the "Ultimate Armor X" from the classic video game "Mega Man X" series, slated for release in Q3 2027.
The "Ultimate Armor," one of protagonist X's enhanced armors, first appeared in "Mega Man X4" as a secret unlockable via a cheat code. This armor grants near-invincibility, allowing players to access abilities like charge shots, air dashes, reduced damage, and lower energy consumption early in the game—features typically reserved for fully upgraded armors. It also enables infinite use of the powerful "Nova Strike" special move, often dubbed the "Golden Dash," which allows X to charge forward in an invincible state, dealing massive damage to enemies.
The "EXQUISITE BASIC Series Ultimate Armor X" stands approximately 15.5 cm (6.1 inches) tall, faithfully recreating its in-game appearance. The entire armor features a luxurious black and gold paint scheme, with the blue sections extensively utilizing clear parts. This high transparency beautifully showcases the intricately sculpted mechanical structures within. Following the series' previous "Mega Man X" releases, this figure boasts highly flexible articulation throughout. Furthermore, powerful magnets are embedded in the soles of its feet, allowing for stable attachment to metal surfaces, enabling dynamic poses such as shooting, jumping, and wall-clinging.
For accessories, the figure includes three interchangeable face plates and three pairs of different hand parts. By swapping out parts, you can recreate X's air dash form with deployed back wings, ready to unleash the "Nova Strike." The wrist can be swapped to an X-Buster hand cannon state, which not only comes with a shooting effect part but also features a magnetic-controlled LED light-up gimmick. Using the HIYA LOGO-shaped magnetic switch, you can cycle through three modes—flashing, breathing, and steady on—to simulate the X-Buster's charge effect.
