Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya, in collaboration with illustrator Morikura En, has announced the latest addition to their "Sousai Shojo Teien" series of everyday-life bishojo plastic model kits: the "Yakushiji Kuon [Cheerleader Costume]," slated for release in December 2026.
A third-year student at Momozakura High School, Yakushiji Kuon may seem a bit clumsy in her daily life as a sheltered young lady, but she transforms into a talented actress with superb skills the moment she steps in front of a camera. Her entry into the entertainment industry through extracurricular activities has given this pampered heiress the opportunity to portray a wide range of characters, most notably Kagari Maria, the heroine of the popular hero show "Infinite Encounter Megalomaria."
The "Sousai Shojo Teien Yakushiji Kuon [Cheerleader Costume]" combines the body parts from the previously released "Ichijo Seira [Cheerleader Costume]" with a head featuring a hime-cut high ponytail. The parts are molded in a vibrant red, black, and white color scheme, complemented by a fair skin tone (C), perfectly capturing Kuon's energetic, elegant demeanor. The kit also includes three pre-painted face parts, three unpainted face parts, and water-slide decals with various eye patterns, allowing for a wide array of interchangeable expressions.
The model kit features a double-layered skirt construction using red and black parts to recreate a dynamic, flowing look. It comes with two interchangeable skirt parts: one for a static standing pose and another for dynamic action poses. The blue lines around the collar of the top are pre-painted, ensuring a high level of completion even with a straight build. Articulated joints from the chest to the waist allow for flexible, wide-ranging forward and backward bending poses, while the neck's ball joint connector is designed to slide back and forth, enhancing head movement and expression.
Furthermore, the kit includes integrated "fixed pose parts" for the arms and legs, featuring deeply bent arms and legs, as well as fully extended arm parts. These offer a greater range of bending than the articulated parts and hide all seams and joint parts, allowing for more diverse and natural posing options. The two essential cheerleader "pom-poms" are each composed of five parts, with subtle differences in design for the left and right hands. They feature a 3mm diameter handle structure internally, ensuring a firm grip for the character's hands.
