MECHA SMILE, the Japanese brand behind the "MODEROID" model kit series, has announced its latest release from "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition": the "EVANGELION Unit 13," slated for January 2027.
First appearing in "Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo" (the third film in the "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" series), EVANGELION Unit 13 is the cutting-edge EVA constructed by Gendo Ikari to breach Lilith's barrier. It serves as the catalyst for the "Fourth Impact," the final ritual of the Human Instrumentality Project. While its appearance resembles the hopeful Unit-01, it stands as its antithesis—a "machine of despair." Unit 13 boasts power far exceeding other EVAs and features a unique dual-entry system, allowing two souls to retrieve the crucial "Spear of Longinus" and "Spear of Cassius."
"MODEROID EVANGELION Unit 13"
This model kit features multi-colored runners, pre-painted parts, and decals, allowing builders to construct a roughly 17.5 cm tall Unit 13 and the Spear of Longinus. The finished model boasts a sleek design and accurate colors true to its on-screen appearance. Its highly articulated joints enable dynamic posing with various interchangeable hand parts. Furthermore, a chest replacement part is included to recreate its distinctive four-arm form.
