Mattel Creations, the online platform where American toy company Mattel collaborates with fan creators to sell their works, has announced a special new release from its popular Hot Wheels die-cast miniature car series. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things," they are launching the "'83 Chevy Van" die-cast car set. Priced at $40, it is scheduled to go on sale on the Mattel Creations official website on July 23, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT.
It's hard to believe "Stranger Things" has been on air for a decade! This Hot Wheels release meticulously recreates the iconic scene from Season 1, Episode 7, titled "The Bathtub," where Eleven uses her powers to flip the Hawkins Power and Light company van that was pursuing her. The 1:64 scale die-cast model, crafted from ZAMAC alloy, faithfully reproduces the details of the '83 Chevy Van. It features kidney-bean wheels paired with Hot Wheels' classic Real Riders rubber tires, and intricate tampo-printed details like "CHEVY VAN" and "Hawkins Power and Light" are precisely reproduced on the vehicle's body.
This set also includes miniature figures of Mike, Eleven, Dustin, and Lucas, depicted riding their bicycles. The packaging is particularly thoughtful, featuring a window box design where the blister card's positioning cleverly recreates the composition of the van mid-air, complemented by a Hawkins background illustration. This perfectly captures the classic scene from the show, making it an absolute must-have for collectors!
