"Go Go Power Rangers!"
Prime 1 Studio, the renowned Japanese manufacturer of high-quality statues, has unveiled another exciting "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" themed product for its Premium Masterline series. In addition to the previously announced "Red Ranger" solo piece, they are now offering a "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Original Five-Ranger" 1/4 scale collectible set. This impressive set comes in both Regular and DX Bonus versions, priced at US$2,299 and US$2,799 respectively. The DX Bonus version is limited to just 300 pieces and is slated for release between December 2027 and March 2028!
In 1993, businessman Haim Saban acquired the overseas distribution rights for Toei Company's Super Sentai series. To appeal to Western audiences, Saban Entertainment ingeniously utilized footage from the Japanese tokusatsu series, re-filming the unmasked scenes to adapt 1992's "Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger" into the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers." The show became an instant sensation upon its debut.
This new "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" set brings together the original five Rangers – Red, Blue, Yellow, Pink, and Black – immortalizing their iconic morphing poses. The Red Ranger utilizes the sculpt from the previously released standalone version. The other four Rangers are meticulously sculpted to reflect the athletic physiques of the original tokusatsu suit actors, capturing powerful musculature and dynamic tension. The sculpt even replicates the realistic fabric textures of the suits as they stretch tightly over the body!
The paint application exquisitely reproduces the vibrant colors of their battle suits, using pearlescent and glossy finishes to realistically differentiate the textures of the leather-like suits and helmets seen in the show. The display base is inspired by the Rangers' morphers and the light effects during their transformation, featuring each Ranger's unique emblem. A metallic nameplate and stylized typography, faithful to the show's visual aesthetic, adorn the front, allowing for a powerful combined display of the team post-transformation.
The DX Bonus Version includes additional interchangeable arm parts for each Ranger, allowing them to be displayed wielding their signature weapons. Both modes of the Black Ranger's Power Axe and the separated and combined forms of the Blue Ranger's Power Lance are faithfully recreated. Unlike the standalone release, the Red Ranger's interchangeable arms feature him holding the Dragon Dagger in one hand and the Blade Blaster in the other. Displaying them fully armed alongside their teammates creates an incredibly epic scene!
