Bandai Candy, the confectionery and toy division of Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest 13th installment in its "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM" series of Mobile Suit Gundam-themed candy toys. The new "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM VOL.13" is scheduled for release in December 2026.
The "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM" series continues the design concept of the "G-FRAME" Gundam candy toy line. Popular Mobile Suits from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" franchise are rendered in an approximately 3-head-tall proportion, utilizing a common "MOBILITY JOINT" articulated frame structure that boasts around 20 points of articulation across the body. The exterior armor also features a high level of intricate detail, distinct from the original designs. Once assembled with its parts and stickers, each Mobile Suit stands approximately 70mm tall.
This latest volume focuses on the classic masterpiece "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack," featuring three popular Mobile Suits: Amuro's "RX-93 ν Gundam," Char's "MSN-04 Sazabi," and the novel version of Amuro's "RX-93-2 Hi-ν Gundam." Also included is the incredibly popular protagonist "Knight Gundam" from the "SD Gundam Gaiden" series. Each Mobile Suit can be equipped with a wide array of weapons and even transform into enhanced forms by combining with its corresponding "EX Parts Set," further expanding playability.
1. ν Gundam
Crafted with an entirely new sculpt, this ν Gundam meticulously reproduces the original design details within its low-head SD proportion. The white chest armor and black calf armor are separate parts, faithfully replicating the colors of each section. It comes with armaments such as a Beam Rifle and Shield. When combined with the "EX Parts Set," it not only adds weapons like Beam Sabers, Hyper Bazooka, and Fin Funnels, but also allows for swapping parts like the face, shoulders, Fin Funnel racks, Beam Rifle, and shield to recreate the "Double Fin Funnel Equipped Type" from MSV.
2. Hi-ν Gundam
This Hi-ν Gundam similarly achieves multi-color separation across its body through individual parts and features a purple and white color scheme closer to the original novel. Even in its low-head SD proportion, it faithfully expresses a more robust and heavy armor silhouette compared to the ν Gundam. Accessories include a Beam Rifle. The "EX Parts Set" includes equipment such as Beam Sabers, Hyper Bazooka, Fin Funnels, Shield, and Fuel Tanks, allowing for the assembly of a fully equipped Hi-ν Gundam.
3. Sazabi
Featuring an entirely new sculpt, this Sazabi recreates its heavy full-body armor in a low-head SD proportion. The armor coloring uses a high-saturation red, similar to its design artwork. Each part is designed to minimize articulation interference, and it also features a movable mono-eye mechanism. Armaments include a Beam Shot Rifle and Shield. The dedicated "EX Parts Set" is an extra-large volume, encompassing two sets of parts, allowing collectors to transform the Sazabi into its novel version, the "Nightingale," once completed.
4. Knight Gundam
Unlike its standard two-head-tall SD design from the original work, this Knight Gundam integrates the articulated frame parts used in the "MOBILITY JOINT GUNDAM" series, redesigning its head-to-body ratio and overall armament proportions. It combines articulation in various joints with a cool aesthetic. Its eyes can either remain pupil-less or use the included pupil stickers to recreate various line-of-sight expressions. Armaments include the Knight Sword, Knight Shield, and Electro-Magnetic Lance, and it faithfully reproduces the shield's ability to store the Knight Sword.
