Toy manufacturer Sentinel has announced the latest addition to its popular "RIOBOT" alloy action figure series: the "Soulgain Super Robot Wars A Color Ver." from "Super Robot Wars OG," slated for release in April 2027.
Piloted by "Super Robot Wars A" protagonist Axel Almar, the EG-X Soulgain is a specialized assault unit designed for hit-and-run tactics, featuring enhanced armor and power. It boasts exceptional mobility, defense, and recovery capabilities. The unit's elbows are equipped with "Arc Gain" weapons, crafted from a special fluid metal, enabling it to unleash various martial arts techniques primarily focused on punches and kicks, such as "Seiryuu Rin" and "Byakko Ga." Upon disengaging its limiter, the Soulgain can further unleash its power to execute "Kirin," a devastating continuous attack special move.
The "RIOBOT Soulgain Super Robot Wars A Color Ver." is a revised edition based on the standard version released in 2025. This new iteration features a complete color repaint, adopting the original color scheme from its debut in "Super Robot Wars A." Its exterior armor showcases a matte metallic blue and intricate silver paintwork, conveying a sense of heft and premium quality. The internal frame is also constructed with numerous die-cast alloy parts, providing a satisfying weight and robust joint articulation during posing. Furthermore, multiple circular lens parts across the body emit a fluorescent glow under blacklight.
Thanks to its highly flexible articulation design, collectors can recreate dynamic and cool combat poses when executing its signature moves. Accessories include transparent LED-lit fist parts to represent its limiter-released state, as well as interchangeable "Arc Gain" parts for its dual arm slashes. The arms also feature a detachable mechanism, allowing for the recreation of the "Genbu Gandan" launch state using the dedicated display stand. Compared to the standard version, this release comes with fewer accessories; notably, the golden Arc Gain parts and the dedicated "Genbu King Kong Dan" parts are not included. Additionally, only one red lens part for the abdomen is provided to represent the "Kirin" activation state, rather than the full body. However, this reduction in accessories also results in a more affordable price point for the product.
