Japanese model kit manufacturer KOTOBUKIYA has announced the latest addition to its fantasy and sci-fi-infused Bishoujo model kit series, "ARCANADEA," with the upcoming release of "GRAND SCALE Ermeda" in December 2026.
Designed by Japanese illustrator necömi, Ermeda is a new angel-type DEARS character, portrayed as a compassionate older sister figure who readily offers comfort and understanding. While typically gentle and serene, she proves remarkably sharp and dependable in critical moments, and is said to be truly terrifying when provoked. As one of the "Seven Sword Saints," she wields formidable power, yet is famously prone to getting lost.
The "GRAND SCALE Ermeda" is an enhanced version of the previously released standard kit, significantly scaled up from approximately 18.5 cm to a towering 27 cm. Numerous parts have been redesigned for improvement, including revamped pupil patterns on all four face parts. The central decorations of the Oath Ring on her back now feature improved color separation through enhanced part division. Her normal mode knee joints have been re-engineered for more natural posing, and the calf parts' division lines have been shifted from horizontal to vertical, making them less visible from the front. Furthermore, the hip joints utilize entirely new structural parts.
The kit utilizes multi-color molded parts and some pre-painted sections to accurately recreate her voluptuous physique and vibrant outfit. It includes four pre-printed face parts and multiple interchangeable hand gestures. For custom expressions, a sheet of water-slide decals featuring various eye and mouth options is also included. By swapping parts, Ermeda can transform from her standard mode into a fully armed battle mode, complete with armor, expansive wings, and a bow and arrow. The figure's body features highly flexible articulation, thanks to double joints, pull-out joints, and a movable skirt design. Her rear hair parts and both pairs of wings on her back are also articulated, allowing for a wide range of poses, from charming everyday scenes to dynamic combat stances with her bow drawn.
