Danish toy brand LEGO has announced the 71053 Shrek Minifigures Series, set to release on September 1, 2026. Each blind bag will retail for $4.99 USD, featuring a total of 12 characters available in blind box format.
DreamWorks Animation's classic computer-animated film, "Shrek," first released in 2001, captivated global audiences with the adventures of the reclusive green ogre Shrek and his talkative sidekick, Donkey. The franchise expanded with sequels like "Shrek 2," "Shrek the Third," and "Shrek Forever After," remaining one of the most recognizable animated IPs in pop culture, with its memes enduring across the internet worldwide.
This Minifigure Series features a total of 12 characters. The full lineup includes: Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother, Dragon, Big Bad Wolf, Executioner, Pinocchio, Gingerbread Man, Lord Farquaad, and Merlin. This collection nearly covers all the most iconic characters from across the four films, making it one of LEGO's most character-dense Minifigure Series in recent years.
It's worth noting that Puss in Boots already made his minifigure debut in June with the release of the "72423 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots" set. This new Minifigure Series will mark the first time other characters are immortalized as LEGO minifigures, making it one of the most anticipated LEGO releases for "Shrek" fans this September.
