"The Rings of Power" Season 3: "Stranger Things" Star Jamie Campbell Bower Joins as Elf Lord Celeborn

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" is set to introduce a pivotal character in its third season. Empire recently revealed that Jamie Campbell Bower, known for his role as Vecna in "Stranger Things," will portray the Elf Lord Celeborn—husband to Galadriel—in the Prime Video series.

Alongside the announcement, the first official image was released, showing Bower sharing a tender moment with Morfydd Clark's Galadriel. While Celeborn was briefly played by Marton Csokas in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" films, Bower described his iteration as more of a "lovesick boy," stating his portrayal drew inspiration from the relationship between J.R.R. Tolkien and his wife, Edith.

"This concept of longing and yearning, it was everywhere in Tolkien and Edith's relationship during their separation, and I really absorbed that idea," he said. Clark also commented that Bower "is exactly how I imagined Celeborn," adding that he "really feels like an elf."

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" Season 3 premieres on Prime Video on November 11, 2026.
