DC's 'DCKO' Mobile Fighter Reveal Angers Fans Demanding 'Injustice 3'

DC recently announced a brand-new superhero fighting game, "DCKO," but the news has failed to win over long-time "Injustice" fans. The reason is simple: this isn't the "Injustice 3" they've been waiting for.

Developed by Drop Fake, "DCKO" is a 2v2 tag-team mobile fighting game scheduled for a 2027 launch on iOS and Android, featuring both online multiplayer PvP and single-player modes.

Creative Director Gene Campbell stated that it was crucial for "DCKO" to represent a "major step forward for the mobile fighting game genre." He noted that real-time multiplayer battles are at the core of the fighting game spirit.

"We're proud to have accomplished that, bringing this feature to a mobile comic book fighter for the first time," Campbell said.

The game currently has 19 confirmed characters, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Constantine, Blue Beetle, and Katana, with new fighters to be revealed monthly. However, players have also been quick to mock the game's name for its unfortunate pronunciation.

The strong backlash is directly linked to recent "Injustice 3" rumors. NetherRealm's Ed Boon had previously fueled speculation on X (formerly Twitter) by running a poll about character super moves from the original "Injustice: Gods Among Us," leading fans to believe the series might be returning, possibly even tying into a comic event like "DC K.O.".

With DC's first major announcement being a mobile game instead, many fans have been left disappointed.
