Anticipation is high for the upcoming "Dune: Part Three," set to debut later this year. Book fans are particularly eager to see how the film will adapt Frank Herbert's "Dune Messiah," the source material for the third installment. Unlike its predecessors, "Dune Messiah" shifts focus from a hero's rise to a reflection on the downfall of a religious icon and imperial leader, featuring fewer action sequences.

However, it appears "Dune: Part Three" won't strictly adhere to the narrative of "Dune Messiah." Javier Bardem, who plays Stilgar in the film series, recently hinted in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that the film will venture beyond the novel. Bardem stated that based on what he's witnessed on set, the film is shaping up to be a masterpiece, with director Denis Villeneuve pushing boundaries even further than he did between "Dune: Part One" and "Dune: Part Two." He described "Part Three" as a grand finale with an unpredictable plot, suggesting that while readers know the book's story, the film will offer more. Bardem promised a "feast" and an "extraordinary viewing experience."
"Dune: Part Three" sees Denis Villeneuve, who helmed the first two installments, return to direct, co-writing the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. The film is slated for a North American release on December 18.
