BANDAI HOBBY, the model kit brand under Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company, is gearing up to release its latest product from the anime series "After War Gundam X," the "HG 1/144 Gundam Leopard," on August 8, 2026. Ahead of the official launch, the company has unveiled the highly anticipated box art and new official product images.
Piloted by Roabe Roy in the series, the GT-9600 Gundam Leopard is one of the Newtype-use mobile suits developed by the Old Earth Federation Army. The entire unit is armed with a diverse array of heavy real-bullet armaments, including various Gatling guns, grenade launchers, and missiles. While it lacks flight capabilities, it is highly effective in space and features treads on its feet for enhanced ground mobility. During the 7th Space War, this mobile suit utilized the Flash System to control 12 unmanned G-Bits, forming an almost invincible heavy artillery unit.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Leopard" is crafted using Bandai's latest color separation and part division technology, extensively reproducing the various colors of the mobile suit through its molded parts. Its seamless part division design minimizes visible seam lines, faithfully recreating the unit's sharp, refined, and blocky armor design, along with the heavy firepower armaments concealed throughout its body. The articulation also meets modern HG product standards, allowing collectors to pose dynamic action scenes utilizing its beam knife and other weapons.
The impressively sized "Arm Gatling" is typically mounted on the back. By swapping certain parts, it can be seamlessly integrated with the left arm for its firing configuration. Furthermore, the multi-launcher missile pod built into the right shoulder, the Gatling guns concealed within the chest armor on both sides, the infrared missiles within the knee armor, and the missile pod mounted on the left calf all feature deployment gimmicks to reveal their internal warheads or muzzles, allowing fans to recreate its powerful full-burst mode.
