Bandai Spirits' collectors division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially pulled back the curtain on its latest release from the hit film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM": the METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Z'Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.). This premium figure, which combines a high-quality metallic finish with a die-cast alloy frame, is scheduled to launch in December 2026.
The Z'Gok that appears in the film, while bearing a striking resemblance to its classic counterpart from the original series, is actually a disguise for the ZGMF-X191M2 Infinite Justice Gundam TypeII. Based on Athrun Zala's previous Infinite Justice Gundam, this machine has been upgraded with the latest technology from Morgenroete, Inc., featuring a panoramic monitor cockpit and Variable Phase Shift (VPS) armor. Its external armor has been significantly redesigned, adding a large beam horn on its head for surprise attacks and swapping its backpack for the new M2X32E VOLANTES flight unit. Due to its use of a nuclear reactor, which violates the Junius Treaty, the unit must operate covertly under the Z'Gok disguise.
The METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Z'Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) faithfully captures the suit's intricate on-screen design in a figure standing approximately 150mm tall. It boasts sleek and stylish armor, bellows-like limb joints, and the impressive M2X32E VOLANTES backpack. Fine details on the elbows, back, and ankles even hint at the Infinite Justice Gundam TypeII hidden within. The entire figure is treated with a rich paint application and detailed markings, giving it the weighty, realistic feel of a military weapon. Furthermore, die-cast alloy is used extensively in key areas, including the main joints of the torso and legs, as well as the "Slashing Fang Claws" on its arms, enhancing its sense of weight and durability.
Thanks to an advanced articulation system, including pull-out shoulder joints, the limbs can be posed in dynamic combat stances while maintaining their unique bellows-like structure. The head's mono-eye is movable, and an alternate battle-damaged part is included to reveal some of the internal mechanics. The "Slashing Fang Claws" can be swapped with red parts to replicate their incandescent, red-hot state. The M2X32E VOLANTES backpack can transform into its flight mode with the nose cone extended, and its wings feature an opening/closing mechanism to switch between Gun Mode and Slashing Mode.
