Bandai Spirits' Tamashii Nations division has officially unveiled the latest addition to its premium METAL ROBOT Spirits lineup: the Cavalier Aifrid from the blockbuster film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM"! This new figure, which combines high-quality paint applications with a die-cast metal frame, is slated for a December 2026 release.
The AMGS-X18P Cavalier Aifrid is a mobile suit support unit utilized by the Orb Union and the battleship Eternal in the movie. While capable of independent flight, it truly shines when docked with a mobile suit, adding the prefix "AMAZING" to the combined unit's designation. Equipping the Cavalier grants a mobile suit flight capabilities in atmospheric, aquatic, and space environments. It's heavily armed with beam cannons, physical projectiles, electronic warfare systems, and even a Mirage Colloid stealth system. Furthermore, its internal compartment can accommodate over 10 soldiers and is equipped with SPC communication gear, enabling real-time, ultra-long-range communication (from Earth to the Moon) and remote MS control between multiple Cavalier units, effectively turning it into a compact mobile command center.
The METAL ROBOT Spirits Cavalier Aifrid captures the unit's imposing design, packed with electronic warfare equipment and living quarters, in a figure standing approximately 16cm tall. The sculpt features intricate detailing across its saucer-shaped outer armor, various forward sensor units, rear thruster nozzles, and multiple weapon systems. A sophisticated paint job utilizing various metallic and semi-gloss finishes, along with precisely printed markings, gives the figure a weighty, realistic military feel. Additionally, key joint components are constructed from die-cast metal to enhance stability and durability.
The figure's onboard armaments are fully articulated, including the "Super High-Impulse Cannon" and the "76mm Autocannon," both featuring movable barrels. The missile pods on both sides also have opening hatches, revealing the red warheads of the "Medium-Range Air-to-Air Guided Missiles" stored within. Most excitingly, this release is designed to combine with the separately sold METAL ROBOT Spirits Z'Gok (SEED FREEDOM Ver.) to recreate its combat and flight configurations from the film.
