Japan's Megahouse toy company is expanding its "INSIDE FANTASY" series, which explores the internal structures of iconic characters, with a new release inspired by the film "Godzilla vs. Hedorah." The "INSIDE FANTASY Hedorah" blind box figures are priced at 1,650 JPY per box and are slated for release in late January 2027!
Hedorah, who first appeared in the 1971 movie "Godzilla vs. Hedorah," originated as a mineral from space. It later transformed into a monstrous embodiment of pollution after absorbing excessive industrial waste. While depicted as a black, foul-smelling waste monster in the film, a wide variety of colorful Hedorah sofubi (soft vinyl) figures were released post-movie to cater to overseas toy markets and optimize production costs. Collectors familiar with sofubi are undoubtedly well-acquainted with these vibrantly colored Hedorah iterations!
The "INSIDE FANTASY Hedorah" figures feature a super cute, compact design, standing approximately 6.5 cm tall. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant paint schemes of classic toys, the series offers four distinct color variations: Green, Blue, Yellow, and White! The right side of the outer shell is detachable, fully revealing the brain and internal organs encased within a translucent skeleton. All internal organs are crafted from colorful translucent materials, and each figure also includes a small infant Hedorah model inside. Combined with their vibrant gradient exteriors and adorable proportions, these figures are incredibly charming!
