Korean figure company BLITZWAY's "CARBOTIX" die-cast action figure series is releasing its latest limited-edition product from the classic robot anime "Mazinger Z": the "Boss Borot Black Ver." This figure is limited to 1,300 units worldwide and is slated for release in January 2027!
"Boss Borot (ボスボロット)" first appeared in TV Episode 48. It was designed by Koji Kabuto's friend and rival, Boss, who then coerced the three doctors at the Photon Power Laboratory into building it for him. Constructed mostly from scrap metal, Boss Borot is largely unarmed, yet possesses single-unit power comparable to Mazinger Z. Throughout the series, it often served as comic relief, but in Episode 75, it achieved its first solo victory against a Mechanical Beast.
The "Boss Borot Black Ver." is essentially a repaint of the "Boss Borot" released in 2023. The figure's overall design remains largely unchanged, with the main body now sporting a subtly luxurious metallic black and silver, while the head has been updated to a pearlescent gold. Standing approximately 20.5 cm tall, this version features enhanced mechanical detailing compared to its anime counterpart. The frame and lower body incorporate numerous die-cast metal parts, giving the product a substantial, premium feel. It also retains the highly praised ratchet joints in the hands from the original release, allowing for a wide range of stable poses. This edition inherits the original's rich array of accessories, including four interchangeable face parts, multiple hand options, missile and jet effects, a slingshot, a diving suit set, a basket, a Mazinger Z-mimicking helmet and chest heat plate, and three mini-standees of Boss and his cronies. The light-up features in the chest and head are also included. Furthermore, it can be combined with the God Scrander wings included with the simultaneously released "Mazinkaiser Chrome Ver." to achieve a look not possible with the original!
