Chinese action figure brand ZEN Of Collectible (Zang Dao Model) has unveiled its latest release from the original mecha series, "Shadow Realm Series" – the "CD-05U Dakuei Combat Ver." This new iteration re-enhances the head armor and overall body armor details from the original mecha design, paired with a completely new weapon loadout to present an even fiercer combat stance. The figure stands approximately 27cm tall and has a Japanese retail price of 34,100 JPY (tax included), with an estimated release in August 2026.
The "Dakuei" is an original mecha character from ZEN Of Collectible's "Shadow Realm Series," designed with the image of an assassin. It is renowned for its stealthy combat style, lurking in the shadows and eliminating enemies silently. The initial "CD-05 Dakuei" released in 2022 was widely praised, and this "Combat Ver." returns with a significantly enhanced armament configuration, while retaining the core appeal of the original, presenting itself in a brand-new form.
This iteration features heavy black-purple and silver-gray armor as its main body, accented with dark gold trim and numerous magenta sharp-angled parts. Mechanical structures resembling fangs and carapaces extend from its head crest and shoulder armor down to its limbs. The face retains its teal glowing details, and combined with a sharper head silhouette, it further transforms "Dakuei's" somber and eerie image into an imposing, heavily armored warrior.
The set's biggest highlight is the centipede-type familiar, "Kageji." When its segmented mechanical body is fully deployed, it can encircle the main figure, forming a colossal beast. It can also be folded and positioned on both sides of the back, transforming into a multi-armed armor-like combat form. Coupled with its orange glowing sections, massive claws, spikes, and multi-jointed articulation, it creates a striking visual impact whether displayed alone or combined with the main figure.
For armament, the set includes the "Seven-Branched Sword" with its multiple bifurcated blades, along with two additional blades, "E-Ya Blade" and "Zhou-Ya Blade." These allow for recreating dynamic combat scenes such as dual-wielding, massive blade swings, or the familiar encircling enemies. The ABS, alloy, and POM materials provide a substantial, weighty feel. Combined with the glowing mechanisms on both the main figure and the familiar, Dakuei exudes an intensely aggressive dark mecha presence, whether in its humanoid combat stance or with "Kageji" fully deployed.
The same brand also simultaneously released the "CD-15 Kujaku Myo-o." Its sacred majesty, displayed with vibrant green peacock feather effect parts, creates a stark contrast to Dakuei's dark, murderous aura. Displaying both figures side-by-side offers arguably ZEN Of Collectible's most impactful display combination.
