The live-action "The Legend of Zelda" movie, a collaboration between Nintendo and Sony Pictures, has announced four new cast members today: Uli Latukefu, Sam Neill, Yvonne Strahovski, and Dichen Lachman. While the roles for Neill and Strahovski have not yet been disclosed, Latukefu is confirmed to play the villain Ganon, and Lachman will portray Impa.

Neill, who recently passed away from pneumonia, had already completed filming his scenes, making "The Legend of Zelda" one of his final posthumous works. They join a cast that includes 22-year-old British newcomer Bo Bragason as Zelda and 17-year-old Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who voiced the title character in Disney's live-action "Pinocchio," as Link.

The live-action "The Legend of Zelda" film is being directed by Wes Ball, known for the "Maze Runner" trilogy and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes." The screenplay is co-written by T.S. Nowlin of the "Maze Runner" trilogy and Derek Connolly, a co-writer on the "Jurassic World" trilogy.
Producing the project are Avi Arad, who has overseen all "Spider-Man" related films including "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," and Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo's chief game designer and Representative Director. The film is scheduled for a May 7, 2027 release.
