Disney has a long history of bringing its beloved theme park attractions to the big screen, turning them into blockbuster hits like the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, "Jungle Cruise," and "Tomorrowland." Their latest target for adaptation is Epcot's iconic indoor dark ride at Walt Disney World Resort: "Spaceship Earth."
This time, however, the "Spaceship Earth" adaptation won't be a feature film like its predecessors. Instead, it's being developed as a television series. Disney has already ordered a pilot episode, with "Wonder Woman" co-writer Jason Fuchs set as showrunner. Michael Waldron, known for writing "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," will executive produce, while Lee Toland Krieger, director of "The Age of Adaline," is attached to helm the pilot.
The official synopsis for the series has also been released. It describes a critical mission to prevent a global catastrophe going awry, forcing a group of teenagers from Earth's past and future to unite against a threat as vast and mysterious as time itself.
