Tamashii Nations, the collectors division of Japan's Bandai Spirits, has just announced the latest release in its popular "Robot Spirits ver. A.N.I.M.E." action figure line. Straight from "Mobile Suit Gundam MSV," the new "Zaku II Wetland Type ver. A.N.I.M.E. ~MS MUSEUM~" is slated for release in January 2027.
The MS-06J Zaku II Wetland Type is one of the specialized Zaku variants from the mind of legendary designer Kunio Okawara. Based on the Ground Type Zaku, it shares a similar arsenal but is distinguished by a camouflage pattern designed for stealth in dense jungle environments. Numerous components throughout its body have been waterproofed, enabling it to operate in the hot, humid conditions of regions like the South American Amazon basin and even engage in combat in shallow waters.
The "Robot Spirits Zaku II Wetland Type ver. A.N.I.M.E. ~MS MUSEUM~" is an updated release based on the previously sold Ground Type Zaku. Standing at approximately 12.5 cm tall, the figure retains the sharp sculpt and incredible articulation that faithfully captures its original line art. Referencing original design schematics and illustrations, the mobile suit's signature camouflage is meticulously recreated using tampo printing. It also features new marking decals that enhance its realistic appearance. Paired with a nameplate showing the unit's designation and a dedicated display stand, the set creates the atmosphere of a real-world machine on exhibit in a museum.
This release comes loaded with a massive arsenal of accessories, including multiple interchangeable hands, a leg-mounted 3-tube missile pod, hand grenades, a Magella Top Cannon, a Zaku Machine Gun, a Zaku Bazooka, a Heat Hawk, missile effect parts, an optional commander-type head, and spare magazines for each weapon. It also includes various connector joints for stowing the armaments on the mobile suit's body, allowing for a wide range of dynamic combat poses beyond a simple static display.
