BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest addition to its popular "SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT" (SMP) series: the "V-Combination VRV Robo" from the tokusatsu series "Gekisou Sentai Carranger," slated for release in March 2027.
Mid-series, the Carrangers faced defeat at the hands of mechanical monsters created by the Space Bōsōzoku, and their powerful giant mecha, the "RV Robo," was stolen. It was then that the mysterious new warrior, "Master VRV," appeared before them, providing the Carrangers with five "VRV Machines" and the battle fortress "Victory Trailer" as their new giant combat assets. Each of the five "VRV Machines" can transform independently from vehicle mode into robot mode for battle, and can further perform "V-Combination" to form the massive "VRV Robo," boasting even greater combat power than the "RV Robo."
The "SMP V-Combination VRV Robo" set includes all five VRV Machines: V-Fire, V-Police, V-Dump, V-Dozer, and V-Rescue. The overall design is based on the previously released DX toy version, with richer detailing added to the vehicle bodies. Each wheel part can rotate, allowing for dynamic display in vehicle mode. Each machine also faithfully recreates its robot mode transformation mechanism, and features numerous articulation points in the neck, arms, hips, and legs, enabling a wider range of poses compared to the DX version.
Once all five machines transform, they can combine into the impressive "VRV Robo," boasting excellent proportions and articulation. Equipped with its two "V-Guns," it can strike dynamic battle poses. Furthermore, some parts can be swapped for "appearance-focused" versions, such as V-Rescue's hand parts which can be stored within V-Dump's transformed foot parts.
This product is also compatible with the previously released "RV Robo." It not only includes "dry cell batteries" and "red-eye effect stickers" to recreate the RV Robo's controlled state by the Space Bōsōzoku, but also features connection parts of the same standard, allowing the RV Robo and VRV Robo to swap limb units, recreating the "Tenka Naniwa Robo Special Version" form.
