HIYA Toys, the Chinese toy brand renowned for its high-quality Godzilla collectibles under the EXQUISITE BASIC series, has announced a new action figure based on the film "Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S." Introducing the "Kiryu (2003) (Modified)" action figure, priced at $99.99 USD and slated for a Q3 2027 release!
The "Kiryu (Modified)" first appeared in 2003's "Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla: Tokyo S.O.S." This ultimate anti-G weapon was originally constructed from the skeletal remains of the Godzilla defeated in 1954. Following the destruction of its signature Absolute Zero cannon during a previous confrontation with Godzilla, this modified version was refitted with a Triple Maser Cannon and equipped with a Type 4 Anti-Beast Excavation Device on its right arm.
This "Kiryu (Modified)" figure stands approximately 19.5 cm (7.7 inches) tall, meticulously sculpted to capture Mechagodzilla's iconic metallic body. Every detail is exquisitely reproduced, from the Triple Maser Cannon concealed within its chest to the intricate energy cables, outer armor plating, and rivet structures. The entire figure boasts a multi-layered metallic paint application, complete with weathering effects to authentically replicate its battle-worn metal armor. Even the "MFS-3" military designation on its left chest is faithfully rendered. Accessories include a pair of interchangeable hands, a back unit, two electromagnetic railguns, and a replacement drill arm.
